Tradition and an explosion of flavour
Traditional food, local produce and innovative techniques. This is what defines the Sugarri Restaurant at the Río Bidasoa Hotel. A welcoming and tranquil place where we achieve the perfect combination of exceptional and innovative food.
Sugarri has become the favourite restaurant of visitors and residents of Fuenterrabía-Hondarribia, and for good reason. If you like good seasonal cuisine with the implementation of innovative and state-of-the-art techniques, this is the place to eat.
And what can you expect from Sugarri? Close your eyes and imagine yourself enjoying a delicious Manchego ratatouille, a steaming wok of prawns or an octopus millefeuille. Traditional dishes with minimalist touches that will make your mouth water.
All this in a place where no detail is lacking, where design and architecture have been specially conceived to complement the gastronomic experience. Large windows, warm natural light, a terrace and access to the beautiful garden area. The ideal environment for any lunch or dinner.
Savour, smile and enjoy: Cheers!
The perfect menu for you
Each menu and each dish is specially prepared starting with the highest quality local and seasonal produce. Each dish tastes of pure Basque tradition, but with a modern touch and an exquisitely creative presentation.
In Sugarri, the goal is not only to create delicious dishes, but to offer a unique experience for each diner through their palate. Tradition is capable of surprising us over and over again, and here you will see the proof.
Sugarri offers exclusive menus for everyone, whether you are a guest or a local resident. Enjoy being surprised by the imaginative flavours that the chefs have included in the menus for weekdays. From a fideua made of sea and mountain produce as a starter and a delicious fish of the day from the fish market as a main course, to a refreshing home-made ice cream of Cabrales cheese. There is something delicious for everyone, and a fine Rioja Crianza wine is always included as a finishing touch.
The weekends are, of course, an opportunity to enjoy the best culinary creations even more. Savour some txangurro (spider crab) and Emmental cheese ravioli, a succulent roast suckling pig with a touch of pineapple and treat yourself to that irresistible home-made brownie with ice cream. Take a look at the menu and give yourself a weekend gift. Go on and break the routine!
The restaurant offers you two fantastic tasting menus which are very different from each other: the Bat Menu (€35) and the Bi Menu (€45). From a succulent assortment of Iberian cured meats or mi-cuit foie gras, to the tastiest roast octopus with papas arrugás (potatoes boiled in their skins). Choose the menu that best suits you, and enjoy!
